After connecting my MP3 player a dialog box is displayed that asks what I want Windows to do each time I connect the MP3 player. What should I do? Click 'Cancel' to close this dialog box, and follow the steps presented by OverDrive Download Station. After connecting my MP3 player I inadvertently chose to play the files on the MP3 player with Windows Media® Player. What should I do? Close Windows Media Player. After checking a title out, click the 'Download' button and the OverDrive Download Station Wizard will guide you through the steps needed to download/transfer files to your MP3 player. When I attempt to transfer an audio title to an iPod® or iPhone™, I get an error message stating 'The license for this title prohibits conversion and transfer to Apple® devices'. What should I do? This error can indicate that the publisher has not allowed this title to be transferred to Apple devices. The publisher of each title decides whether to allow the title to be transferred to an Apple device; this decision is at the publisher's discretion. Many publishers enable this functionality while others choose not to permit this use of their content. To check whether an OverDrive WMA Audiobook title can be transferred to an iPod or iPhone, search for the desired title, and click the title to bring up the page displaying details about the title. At this page, look for the heading 'Digital Rights Information'. The information listed here will clearly indicate whether or not the publisher has enabled transfer to Apple device functionality. This error will also be displayed if you are attempting to transfer OverDrive Music titles to an iPod, iPhone, or Zune device. OverDrive Music titles cannot be transferred to iPods and iPhones at this Download Station. Many OverDrive Music titles can be transferred to iPods and iPhones using OverDrive Media Console v3.2.0.3 (or newer, on your Windows PC at home). OverDrive Music titles cannot be transferred to Zunes. When I connect my iPod or iPhone an iTunes® dialog box opens that says 'Your iPod needs to be reformatted for use with Windows. Would you like to run iTunes to restore your iPod now?'. Should I reformat my iPod or iPhone? To prevent any loss of data, we do not recommend reformatting your iPod or iPhone. Instead, use the 'at-home' version of this site on your home computer at http://singapore.lib.overdrive.com. When I transfer OverDrive WMA Audiobook titles to an iPod or iPhone, the transfer process takes longer than I expected. Why does it take longer than usual to transfer OverDrive WMA Audiobook titles to Apple devices? When OverDrive WMA Audiobook titles are transferred to Apple devices, the DRM-protected WMA files that make up the audiobook are converted. The conversion process typically takes a few minutes per Part, resulting in transfer times that are longer than what you may typically experience. When I attempt to transfer an audiobook to my Zune, I get an error stating that the Zune is already connected to another program. What should I do? Before you can transfer audiobooks to a Zune using OverDrive Download Station, you must close any other program to which the Zune is connected. After you close all applications to which the Zune is connected, attempt the transfer again. What should I do if an audio title does not completely transfer? If a Part of an audio title has not downloaded or transferred to your MP3 player successfully, attempt to download and transfer the Part again. OverDrive Download Station may alert you that 'One or more of the selected Parts already exist on the selected portable player.' At this prompt select 'Yes' to overwrite the Part that previously transferred unsuccessfully. I tried to transfer an audio title to my Windows Mobile® device and got an error that began 'Unable to locate folder from…'. What should I do? This error occurs if you have specified that you want to save a title to a sub-folder on an encrypted SD card. OverDrive Download Station only supports transfer of audio titles to the root folder of encrypted SD cards. Transfer to sub-folders is supported if your SD card is not encrypted. To save files to the root folder of your encrypted SD card…
